The UNM Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Clinical Research (MSCR) provides learners who have earned a terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., Sc.D.) with the didactic and experiential learning necessary to conduct extramurally-funded clinical and translational research.
The UNM Certificate in Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) program is designed to meet the needs of a variety of learners who are seeking exposure to clinical and translational research competencies, but who are not interested in or ready for a Master's program. The CCTS, along with the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Research concentration (MS-BIOM-CR), is an educational component of the UNM School of Medicine - Research Education Office (SOMREO).
As Director of both programs, Dr. Shiraz Mishra will present on the History and Future of the UNM HSC MSCR and CCTS Graduate Certificate Programs.
At the conclusion of the presentation, participants should be able to define the principles of adult learning, identify and define hierarchies of learning, explain translational research, and describe UNM’s Masters of Science in Clinical Research program.
