Topic – Research Notes: Cooperative Services Program Study #2003: Powered Exoskeletons in Persons with SCI
Description – This seminar will describe research on the utility of robotic exoskeletons for Veteran's with Spinal Cord Injury along with the currently understood indications, contraindications Limitations and Functional use of the technology. The criteria for VA Spinal Cord Injury services will be discussed.
Learning Objectives – At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- Describe research that is underway currently at NM VA HCS (& alternate research conducted during the Covid-19 Pandemic)
- Relate knowledge of indications and contraindications of ReWalk Exoskeletons to common sequela of SCI
- Detail how the mobility functions of Exoskeleton Assisted Walking (EAW) enable functional activities
- Direct Veterans who may be eligible to VA health care services
