In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC), Sally Bowler-Hill, MA, PMP, has been named one of this year’s recipients of the HSC Administration Staff Awards.
Starting in 2014, the UNM HSC began this annual recognition of its administrative staff as a way to honor those who exemplify the values of the HSC – Professionalism, Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Diversity, Integrity, and Accountability. Winners are presented with a certificate along with a $1,000 prize.
As the Manager of Administrative Operations at the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC), Sally oversees the fiscal and administrative operations of the library and its staff. Throughout her 17 years with the library, Sally’s dedication and hard work has been the backbone of the Library’s planning and business operations; maintaining a nearly $3M budget in addition to the organizations strategic planning, assessments, and communications.
During the pandemic and the switch to remote work, she never gave up and focused on how the library could continue serving the HSC community while keeping our staff and users both safe and calm. All of this while coordinating the search for a new Executive Director, working on her second master’s degree, and supporting her own children as they attend school remotely from home. Sally’s work ethic, passion, and positivity is nothing short of astonishing and all of us here at HSLIC are so very honored to have her in our organization. As her nominators wrote, “When talking to others across the HSC campus, it is clear to see that everyone values, respects, and appreciates Sally and all the work she does.”
Congratulations Sally for this well-deserved recognition!
