At HSLIC, we make finding your course materials easy with our Course Reserves service!
What are Course Reserves?
Course Reserves provides students with a simple solution to finding their required materials through HSLIC. Our goal is to increase accessibility to course materials for students in our community. We work with faculty to provide access to texts and media at no cost to students! Whether it is textbooks, journal articles, videos, or even dental hygiene kits, we work to ensure that students can find what they need to succeed with ease.
How to use Course Reserves?
Using Course Reserves is simple! It can be accessed either through our Course Reserves guide or through clicking “Course Reserves” under the search bar on HSLIC’s home page. Once in the Course Reserves module, you can type your course name, course number, or instructor to find your class. On that page, you will find a list of materials placed on reserve for your course.
Some of your required textbooks may be available electronically! eTextbooks available for a course will be listed on the course’s reserves page, providing 24/7 access to your required materials whether studying from home or on campus. Simply click the “View eBook” button to be taken directly to the text.
If the item is not available electronically, it may be available physically within the library. The physical Course Reserves shelving can be found on the ground floor of HSLIC to the left of the main doors. Here students can find physical copies of their textbooks. These textbooks can be used within the library or checked out for a 3-hour period. Additionally, scanners are available at the nearby computers if you would like to scan chapters that you need.
