Evaluating an OER should be a similar process to evaluating traditional textbooks that would be adopted for use in a course including that content:
- Covers the subject area appropriately
- Is accurate and current
- Is clearly written and appropriate for the audience
In addition to the above, the following should also be considered when reviewing an OER:
- License allows reuse or adaptation depending on how content will be used
- Content is accessbile
