Understanding eTextbooks

eTextbooks at HSLIC

An eTextbook is an ebook that has been assigned to a course as required reading.  The "required" piece is what makes it a textbook for collection development purposes at HSLIC. HSLIC provides access to many required textbooks including print and ebooks, but can't provide access to all required texts.  This can be due to a number of factors including scope/content, format, availability, and cost.  For more information about HSLIC's selection criteria, please see HSLIC's Collection Development Manual. If you would like to request that the library purchase an eTextbook, please fill out the Request a Library Purchase Form so that the title can be evaluated.
