The surrounding lobby is a welcoming and visually stunning space, enhanced by noise-dampening ceiling tiles and flooring. Behind the desk, ample storage keeps checkout items, event supplies, and more neatly organized. And above it all, an eye-catching lighting feature—fondly nicknamed The Avocado—adds a unique touch. All student computer desks are now motorized and height-adjustable for customizable working options. Movable tables and chairs allow for flexible study, while glass boards support notetaking and collaboration. Vibrant, adaptable chairs provide comfort and multiple seating options, and cozy lounge chairs offer a perfect spot to relax or take a break.
Looking for a convenient spot to grab a snack or take a break? The new kitchenette space features vending machines, a refrigerator, a sink, and—finally—the much-requested microwave! Group seating creates the perfect setting for lunch chats, making this a great place to relax and socialize between classes.
The Nook seating pods made an appearance at the library at the start of the renovation project and students voted them into the new floor design! The pods can be used for quiet study, collaboration, or a lunch spot. They come with charging outlets, adjustable lighting, and acoustic panels to reduce noise. The outside walls are whiteboards, so brainstorm away. Two Nooks are located outside the kitchenette and one is in the study area and has bean bag seating.
The library has installed a cutting-edge data visualization wall, which can transform complex information into engaging, interactive displays. Designed to enhance learning and discovery, the visualization wall supports collaboration and provides an innovative way to engage with data-driven storytelling.
