Introduction

Interlibrary Loan is a service that obtains research materials not available at UNM by requesting them from other libraries. These materials are most commonly journal articles and books.  It is available to UNM Health Sciences faculty, staff, and students.

Document Delivery is a service to request electronic delivery of research materials available at HSLIC. It is free for UNM Health Sciences faculty, staff, and students, and it is available to New Mexico health care providers and government agencies, unaffiliated businesses, and members of the public for a $20 charge per article.

Please note: We do not borrow textbooks as part of the Interlibrary Loan program.

ILL and Document Delivery

  • Free for HSC affiliates
  • Rush requests are not taken
  • $20 charge for Document Delivery for unaffiliated users
  • Typical wait time
    • Articles/copies - 1 to 3 days, delivered electronically
    • Books - 1 to 2 weeks to arrive, 2 to 4 week loan period
