What is LibKey Nomad?

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension available for Health Sciences Library users to quickly access full-text resources while searching on websites such as PubMed and Wikipedia.LibKey Nomad will:

  • Inform you if the article is available via HSLIC without you having to log in and use the catalog
  • Provide alternatives to resources if full-text is unavailable through the library
  • Protect your privacy, an account is not needed to use the extension 

For example, in Pubmed, LibKey Nomad provides the following buttons:

  1. "Download PDF" when the PDF is available
  2. "Access Options" when an alternative format is available or provides access to the Interlibrary Loan form to request the article
  3. "View Complete Issue" to see other article published in the same issue of the journal

How to Install

Using LibKey Nomad requires no account, and the add-on extension is available for select browsers:

Download the LibKey Nomad browser extension on your desktop or laptop

Once you've installed LibKey Nomad and clicked on the add-on extension for the first time, you will be prompted to locate and select your institution. After choosing your institution, you are set to use LibKey Nomad.
