by Patti Brammer on 2019-05-02T10:35:00-06:00 | Comments

Check out HSLIC’s new recycling bins, conveniently located on each floor of the Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center.

Did you know . . .

  • Approximately 1860 reclaimed milk jugs were used to make these "new" recycling bins.

  • Americans throw away enough plastic bottles each year to circle the earth four times.

  • Recycling a single aluminum can saves enough energy to run a television or computer for three hours.

  • Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to light a 100-watt light bulb for 4 hours.

  • Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees.

  • Every person in the US receives the equivalent of one and a half trees per year or approximately 560 pieces of junk mail per year.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Today, for a better tomorrow.
