EBLIP is a peer reviewed, open access journal published quarterly by the University of Alberta Library. EBLIP publishes original research and commentary on the topic of evidence based library and information practice, as well as reviews of previously published research (evidence summaries) on a wide number of topics.

This journal welcomes case studies, evaluation and research report of successful practice or lessons learnt. Authors should highlight why their research is relevant for health knowledge services, and health information and library services workers, specifically. This journal charges Open Access fees.

Hypothesis is an international peer-reviewed journal that provides a venue for original research and research-related content, including research studies and reflections on the process in order to encourage a broader, reflective conversation among MLA members, medical librarians, and librarians interested in research. There is no requirement to be an MLA or MLA Research Caucus member in order to submit manuscripts to the journal; however, the editors reserve the right to evaluate submission pertinence for our readers.

The Journal of the Canadian Health Libraries Association / Journal de l’Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada (JCHLA / JABSC), formerly known as Bibliotheca Medica Canadiana (BMC), is a triannual, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to providing a voice for issues and interests shared by Canadian health science librarians and health libraries. Submissions on a wide range of topics will be considered.

The Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries is a peer-reviewed professional journal devoted to the access, evaluation, and management of electronic resources in the medical library environment. This journal will be an essential resource for academic medical school libraries, hospital libraries, and other health sciences libraries. The material in the Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries will complement articles published in Medical Reference Services Quarterly, which highlights the reference and bibliographic instruction aspects of electronic resources. JEAHIL is the official Journal of the European Association for Health Information and Libraries (EAHIL). It publishes original articles, reviews, theme issues and brief communications in the field of health information and libraries. It also publishes news from EAHIL and from other medical library associations, meeting reports, product reviews, opinion and discussion papers and news items. The aim of the European Association for Health Information and Libraries is to unite and motivate librarians and information officers working in medical and health science libraries in Europe. EAHIL encourages professional development, improves cooperation and enables exchanges of experience amongst its members.

The Journal of Hospital Librarianship focuses on issues that are of vital interest and concern to hospital librarians. The journal provides a forum for research strategies and reporting research results and quality improvement projects in hospital library settings, discussions of technological challenges and solutions, and articles on health care administration issues which have implications for hospital librarians such as managed care health care economics, hospital mergers, as well as patient safety and consumer health information. This journal charges Open Access fees.

The Journal of the Medical Library Association (JMLA) is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to advance the knowledgebase and practice of health sciences librarianship. JMLA welcomes the submission of any original manuscript that seeks to improve the practice of health sciences librarianship; to extend the knowledgebase on the organization, delivery, use, and impact of information on health care, biomedical research, and health professionals’ education; or to describe important developments in or the history of the health sciences library profession and related fields. As part of JMLA’s Equity Initiative, we issue a continuing call for manuscripts that address social injustices; speak to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workforce and among our user communities; share critical perspectives on health sciences librarianship; or are authored by individuals who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.

This highly acclaimed, peer-reviewed journal is an essential working tool for health sciences and hospital librarians. For those professionals who provide reference and public services to health sciences personnel in clinical, educational, or research settings, Medical Reference Services Quarterly covers topics of current interest and practical value in the areas of reference and information literacy services in medicine and related specialties, the biomedical sciences, dentistry, nursing, and allied health. The Journal of Consumer Health on the Internet covers the fields of consumer health information, patient education, and health literacy. Of interest are the practical aspects of providing programs and services aimed at helping patients and the general public find the quality health information they need, with a focus on electronic and Internet-related information. The journal is aimed at medical and public librarians who provide health information to the general public and patients, and at librarians and health care personnel who are involved with patient education and health literacy. Research articles are of interest so long as they have practical application or lessons learned. This journal charges Open Access fees.

The Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR) (founded in 1999, now in its 23rd year!), is the pioneer open access eHealth journal and is the flagship journal of JMIR Publications. It is a leading digital health journal globally in terms of quality/visibility (Journal Impact Factor™ 7.08 (Clarivate, 2022)) and is also the largest journal in the field. It is indexed in all major literature indices including Medline, PubMed/PubMed Central, Scopus, Psycinfo, SCIE, JCR, EBSCO/EBSCO Essentials, DOAJ, GoOA and others. The journal focuses on emerging technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, telehealth and informatics applications for patient education, prevention, population health and clinical care.
